FUNGAL INFECTIONS

Fungal infections have become the most commonly seen problem in skin OPD. Mostly they are seen during the summer and monsoon season and present as round or ring shaped lesion with scaling. Folds of the body like underarm, groin, under breast, buttocks, thigh are the areas that are commonly affected but other areas may also be affected and even nails and hair be affected.The lesions can be severely itchy and discomforting . People with Diabetes and decreased immunity are more likely to get fungal infections.

Proper medicines and good hygiene are the two mantras of treatment.
